A fast-growing clover with striking deep red flower spikes. Produces strong early-season blooms that attract heavy bee activity and add bold color to small garden spaces.
Sowing tips:
- Depth: 5–10 mm (¼–½ inch)
- Germination: 5–10 days
- Spacing: can be sown dense; thinning optional
Coverage (dense sowing): ~15–25 sq ft per 20 g
Growing notes:
- Height: typically 1–2 ft
- Sun: full sun preferred
- Water: moderate; keep moist during establishment
- Soil: performs best in well-drained soil
Helpful info:
- Blooms quickly (6–8 weeks after sowing)
- Does not reliably overwinter in colder climates—reseed each year
- Excellent early nectar source for bees
- Can be succession planted for extended bloom period
- Helps improve soil by fixing nitrogen
General Sowing (Urban / Flowerbeds)
- Timing: Early spring or late summer
- Prep: Loosen topsoil (2–5 cm), remove weeds
- Seed: Broadcast evenly and lightly cover
- Water: Keep soil moist until established
Tip: For fuller visual impact, sow slightly heavier than standard lawn rates in small beds.
